Pennsylvania Drunk Driving Arrest Attorneys
A drunk driving arrest can happen to just about anyone. The question is, once it happens, how will it affect your future?
At Herr & Low, P.C., your case will be carefully analyzed, reviewed and explained so that you can choose the option that will make the most sense for you. We will ask important questions to come up with an effective DUI defense strategy:
- Was the officer within his or her jurisdiction when the arrest was made?
- Was the testing device accurate? Are the results of the blood or breath test reliable?
- Was there probable cause to stop the driver?
- Were proper procedures followed throughout the arrest and booking?
- Is this a first offense?
ARD: A Program For First-Time Offenders
ARD stands for Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition. It is a program designed to keep first- time offenders out of jail. If your case is accepted into the ARD program, you won’t lose your license for as long as you otherwise would.
If you successfully complete the program, a criminal conviction will not appear on a criminal background check. In fact, once you complete the ARD program, a petition can be filed with the court asking that the DUI charge itself be wiped from your record. Keeping your record as clean as possible is important for employment and other purposes.
Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition may present an option for avoiding a criminal conviction, and having a charge of DUI on your record expunged. However, this requires a community service commitment, enrollment in alcohol highway safety school, drug and/or alcohol counseling, and fees. Also, if you get an Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition, you cannot get an occupational limited license. Talk to a Lancaster DUI lawyer from our firm to learn more.

Don’t delay. Missing deadlines in the application for ARD can limit your options and result in more serious consequences.
