Criminal Defense

At Herr & Low, P.C. we have the ability to handle summary citations, misdemeanor charges, and more serious offenses. Experienced in all phases of criminal practice, from preliminary hearings, trial, sentencing, appeals and probation and parole violations, our work in criminal defense includes the following types of cases:

  • Driving Under the Influence

Experienced in handling drunk driving cases and making application for ARD (Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition).

  • Juvenile Law

Experienced in handling juvenile matters, including adjudication and disposition hearings. When a child commits a criminal act, with some exceptions, rather than the act being designated as a "crime," the act is considered a "delinquent act." The adjudication hearing determines whether the act is considered to be a "delinquent act" and the child to be a "delinquent child." The disposition hearing determines how the child will be treated, including supervision, rehabilitation, counseling, or other alternatives.

  • Traffic Offenses

Experienced in handling traffic offenses and license problems, from speeding tickets to more serious charges such as leaving the scene of an accident, which carries a mandatory 6-month suspension. Many unwary motorists plead guilty to what they think is a minor charge only to receive notification from PennDOT that their license has been suspended! The police do not have any obligation to tell you that, if you plead guilty to certain offenses, there could be other consequences. To be safe, consult an attorney before pleading guilty to any offense, including traffic offenses.

  • Fees in Criminal Matters

There is an initial consultation fee of $75.00 for criminal law matters. Attorney's fees are usually charged on a flat fee basis and depend upon which stage of the proceeding is involved and the complexity of the case. All fees must be paid in advance before the attorney will attend any proceeding.
